In This Other World

Our eyes are opened now, we can see the sky

We can see the marvels of beauty through the mists and forests high.

The green ferns along the hidden paths gather the crystal spray

From the nearby waterfall; rainbows shimmer in the sun

And nature in perfection done.

Canyon walls climb high, the river runs along the floor

Between the rocks the echoes call, this magical place survived it all.

As the first rays of the sun, gather natures moments, when the animals awake

We hear their calls, and wonder where they are,

The birds, the butterflies, the bees and yes, the snakes.

So we paddle down the river, just taking in the views, no rapids here,

but quiet repose.

Our eyes once more, are opened with surprise, to be so close to nature, and its peace;

To feel no passing of time, is as though time has no meaning here, it stands still

Except for the river, and the sounds of silence that surround us,

In this other world of ours.
